The Sea Lady Project

The Sea Lady Project for protection of the underwater world of the Indopacific.

The Sea Lady boat is sailing on the waves of the Indopacific also from other reason beyond commercial expedition diving activities. One of its important tasks is a project for protection of the underwater world of the Indopacific and support of old-fashioned fishing practices. The Sea Lady will spread education regarding the destructive use of dynamite and cyanide, which belong to illegal ways of fishing and cause gradual destruction of corral reefs. This education will take place during personal meetings with the natives. They will be shown films about the underwater world and how a corral reef looks after fishing with the use of dynamite or cyanide. Simple brochures will be made, which will be handed out to the heads of villages. Furthermore, a simple textbook will be prepared, which will be spread in schools on the given route of the Sea Lady.

The Sea Lady project will cooperate on this with Yayasan Kura Kura Nusa Penida, which is an Indonesian foundation engaging in protection of sea turtles and the underwater world. This foundation is the Indonesian partner of the Kura Kura Project, whose bearer is the Union of Czech and Slovenian Zoological Gardens (UCSZ). Furthermore, the Sea Lady also cooperates with an international organization for protection of the nature - The Nature Conservation.

Another activity within the project is the documentation of the underwater world, searching for new species and creation of educational films and brochures. Publishing in magazines and cooperation with the media will be the output from these activities. Media will present the activities of the Sea Lady in the Czech Republic and in other countries of the European Union. All these activities will take place during expedition diving activities, so you will have an extraordinary chance to be a part of it.
